I was honored to see one of my images of Hotel Bardo featured in the May 2025 issue of Better Homes and Gardens. Sharing space in the same magazine as Wishbone Kitchen's Meredith Hayden is definitely a pinch me moment.
I partnered with Palmetto Bluff to capture a feature on peaches for their Spring/Summer issue of Bluff Magazine, and one of those images landed on the publication’s cover. If you're in need of a summer dish (or drink) that’ll leave you feeling a little peachy, you can find it here.
Lately, I’ve been experimenting with medium format film — a slower, more intentional way of shooting that’s teaching me patience in all the best ways. I recently shared a post about a luxury fashion shoot where I used it exclusively. Here are a few other images from my play:
In the spirit of warmer days ahead, I gave my patio a little refresh. I was on the hunt for a more affordable teak, and found just what I was looking for in this Walker Edison set — affordable, sturdy and not the usual puzzle-piece nightmare to put together. I don’t love assembling furniture (who does?), but this one didn’t test every ounce of my patience.
For your spring/summer listening.

January - 35 hours
February - 65 hours
March - 58 Hours
April - 81 Hours
This has been such a simple shift, but it’s changed so much, including my quality of life — being outdoors more, intentionally, has become one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Living back by the water helps. The air feels easier to breathe out here. The summer months are definitely going to be good.
Planning for Summer:
I’m leaning into the hotel and hospitality space this summer, with hopes for some European photography opportunities on the horizon. I’m especially drawn to boutique hotels and independent luxury properties (think not-your-average-chain hotel) — places with a story to tell and a strong sense of place. If you’ve stayed somewhere that sounds like it fits the bill, I’d love to hear about it. My list is always growing!
XX,
Kathryn Ann
